Created in 1883 and operated until 1977, linking Paris to Constantinople - later Istanbul - the Orient-Express was the first in a series of transnational luxury trains from the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons Lits. constituted a diplomatic and economic tour de force.

Constructed from the company's photographic archives, this book presents valuable documents, many of which are being revealed for the first time.
