[Explanation] Since 2011, Hubei University of Arts and Science has established a "Weekend Volunteer Education" service team, insisting on coming to Qifang Town, Zaoyang City every weekend and winter and summer vacations to provide homework guidance for left-behind children.
Recently, the team’s "Take Your Hand and Accompany You to Become Talents" precision support project won the Silver Award of the Fifth China Youth Volunteer Service Competition.
[Explanation] At 9 o'clock in the morning on December 19, when the reporter came to the counseling center with the 4 teachers, the two simple classrooms were already full of more than 50 primary and middle school students.
[Simultaneous] Student: I am very happy here, and it has made me learn a lot. The learning that my brothers and sisters have given me has become better, and it has also allowed me to make greater progress in my study. It was when I was in junior high school. Failed grades, after coming here, my grades became more than 100 points.
[Explanation] The reporter saw that in every classroom, there are both primary school students from grades one to six and junior high school students from grades seven to ninth.
The tutoring subjects involve Chinese, mathematics, English, geography, history, etc.
Taking advantage of the lunch break, the volunteers also played table tennis, games, and physics experiments with the children.
[Commentary] Zhang Jing, a volunteer member, told reporters that he was from Qifang Town.
In 2019, when he was admitted to Hubei University of Arts and Sciences, he joined this caring team for the first time.

[Explanation] Zhan Li, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, Hubei University of Arts and Sciences, introduced that since Du Pengfei, a physics student of the 2010 class of the school, served as the first volunteer team captain, there have been 10 captains and more than 400 team members have taken care of the relay for 10 years. Take root in Qifang Town, Zaoyang, to provide voluntary education and serve the "left-behind children" in Shanxiang.

The love counseling center in the town carries out counseling activities for children.
[Explanation] At present, the school has incorporated the "Weekend Volunteer Education" volunteer service team into the precision assistance project, and formulated a systematic and complete management system to provide strong guarantees from human, material and financial resources, so that the baton of love can be passed on.
