Some today say that Santa Claus is a pagan version of Saint Nicholas exported to the United States by 19th-century Dutch migrants, and re-dressed for the winter by a large multinational soda company.
Others rather evoke the Nordic Santa Claus, who each year, at the time of the winter solstice, leaves his Lappish fir forest on his sleigh pulled by his reindeer, the basket loaded with gifts made throughout the year by tireless elves in their workshop.
Where is the truth ?
Well, we won't tell you everything today, because the mystery is part of the magic of Christmas.
The writer
Romain Sardou
nevertheless reveals some secrets to us in a tale entitled
Une second avant Noël
published by XO editions.
