[Explanation] As the first batch of Shanghai rail transit lines with the highest level of fully automatic operation, the southern section of the first phase of Shanghai Metro Line 18 (hangtou station to Yuqiao station) recently passed the initial operation Safety assessment, opening soon.

The reporter noticed that there are 8 stations in the southern section of the first phase. Among them, Yuqiao Station interchanges with the existing Line 11. Line 18 is a fully automatic driverless train. The most distinctive feature is the open driver at the front of the train. The cabin integrates the two relatively independent spaces of the original driver’s cabin and passenger cabin.

Looking out from the front window of the car, you can see the scenery inside the tunnel, which is refreshing.

  Jiang Siliang, commissioning manager of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 18, said that Line 18 is equipped with integrated bearer wireless communication technology and has a complete set of automation functions in terms of train control and passenger services, which will greatly improve the quality of operation.

In the early stage of operation, each train has a train controller at the front of the train, but the train controller does not drive the vehicle and only responds to emergencies.

  The main feature of unmanned driving is that it does not require human intervention throughout the process.

Then its main functions are automatic wake-up, automatic self-check, automatic out of the warehouse, and automatic parking, door opening and closing, departure, as well as automatic car washing and automatic return to the warehouse, all without manual intervention.

In fact, the operation now does not require the driver to operate it, (train controller) he promises that in case there is any problem, the manual can intervene faster and in time.

They should be there in the early stage of operation, and they will be on duty at the front of the car.

  [Explanation] The reporter learned that the carriages of Line 18 not only use automatic dimming in the lighting system, but also can change the color temperature according to the four seasons, improving comfort and further reducing energy consumption.

In addition, the compartment is also equipped with a smart wireless charging platform.

  Its lighting is controlled over time. It will be at ten o'clock in the morning (before) and after four o'clock in the afternoon. It will be in a low light state, so that the body can better adapt to the environment at the time, and then the middle (time period) is glare.

The air conditioner in the compartment is automatically controlled, and the temperature of the air conditioner is also automatically set by the center.

(In addition) There will be a wireless charging station in the middle of each compartment, and then passengers can put their mobile phones on the charging station to charge their phones, and there is also a wired charging port, which is very convenient.

The station has also set up many humanized facilities, expanded the area of ​​barrier-free toilets, and increased facilities for children. In addition to Mibashi Station, the other 7 stations have set up maternity and infant rooms to further enhance the level of humanized services.

  It is reported that the southern section of the first phase of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 18 (Hangtou Station to Yuqiao Station) will be officially opened to traffic at the end of December 2020.
