Ras Al Khaimah reveals details of the fireworks celebrations of 2021 at Al Murjan

The Supreme Committee for Organizing New Year's Celebrations in Ras Al Khaimah announced the start of preparations for the New Year 2021 celebrations in an innovative and distinctive manner that achieves public safety for members of the community under the current circumstances.

The show includes various formations of fireworks floating above the sea level opposite Al Marjan Island over a four-kilometer stretch with the harmony of distinctive musical pieces for a period of 10 continuous minutes at the beginning of the new year.

A spokesman for the Celebration Organizing Committee said: “The circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic forced us to deal with New Year’s celebrations in a new and ambitious manner, as the show will be filmed and broadcast in a unique manner that allows the audience to enjoy watching the show from their homes.

The most prominent idea in this direct presentation includes broadcasting a message of hope and optimism, in addition to being proud of the achievements and continuing to consolidate the position of the state in general, and the emirate in particular, in facing challenges.


"We sincerely thank the public who enriched our previous experiences and invite them to continue attending, but in a different and distinctive way imposed on us by the pandemic, as the committee decided to broadcast the show on television and social media, starting at 11:45 pm" on New Year's Eve.

The committee stated that it canceled all the usual public activities based on the developments of the health situation, including the closure of the public viewing platforms, the closure of the public beach on the road between the village of Hamra and Marjan Island, the closure of the public sea beach in front of the residences of the Marina Towers in the village of Hamra, and the closure of the public parking area that used to be It is held as part of the New Year celebrations, in application of the precautionary measures to confront and combat the Coronavirus, in addition to canceling public events on the beaches and the games area on Al Marjan Island.

Ras Al Khaimah set two records in the Guinness Book of Records during the New Year celebrations 2020, for the two categories of the largest number of drones used to launch fireworks simultaneously and the longest waterfall of fireworks in the presence of a specialized audit and arbitration committee from "Guinness". The number of records set by the fireworks display in Ras Al Khaimah in the encyclopedia has reached five new records in just three years.
