Since Wednesday, public life in Germany has been enormously restricted again.

Politicians and doctors alike assume that the lockdown will be extended.

Simulations now confirm that a time limit for the lockdown until January 10th will probably not be sufficient.

A team from Saarland University has developed a Covid simulator to calculate the course of the pandemic. The researchers compare the regional differences with driving a car: the federal states are traveling at different speeds, but braked equally hard at the same time. Accordingly, they would come to a stop at different points.
