In Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture, the water storage rate of dams has declined and there is a risk of water outages, so water supply activities using water trucks dispatched from local governments in the prefecture have begun at hospitals and other places.

In response to this problem, 10 water trucks were dispatched from the local government in Chiba prefecture to Minamiboso City, and 3 of them are engaged in water supply activities at Nakahara Hospital in the city.

Since there are more than 100 patients undergoing dialysis treatment that requires a large amount of water at this hospital, about 30 tons of water will be supplied in 17 days a day.

In addition, hospitals are cooperating in saving water by reducing the number of baths for inpatients to once a week.

Hiroe Zama, director of Nakahara Hospital, said, "Not only the treatment of artificial dialysis but also the hand washing of the new corona measures may be affected, so I would like you to continue the water supply activity."

Minamiboso City has a policy of starting water outage when the water storage rate of the Komukai Dam, which is the water source, falls below 20%, but depending on the city, it is possible to cooperate with residents to save water and drive from water sources in other areas to the dam. By bringing in water, etc., the water storage rate as of the 17th is about 30%, which means that the decline has been stopped.

The city continues to call for cooperation in saving water.
