Something has gone terribly wrong with the earth.

Two androids (they have been seen before under other names: replicants, hubots, hosts - they are human-like robots) have been sent by the "creator" into space to create a new world through artificial insemination of human children.

At the same time, a sheet

of surviving humans

slides

around in space.

It is also understood that some form of religious war has taken place between believers and atheists.

The first two episodes of Raised by wolves are directed by Ridley Scott (also producer) who is more or less the king of the sci-fi genre since Blade runner (1982) and Alien (1979).

And there is a lot to recognize.

Many of the basic elements of the sci-fi genre

are there.

Basically existential dilemma: The earth is pie - what original states does it produce in man?

Can AI feel emotions, even though they are programmed not to do just that?

Is religion always something you turn to in a crisis?

And so on.

Then there is the look: The colors are gray, blue and yellow.

Dystopian.

Desert.

Cities in ruins.

All are dressed in either gray full-body spandex, sect-like coats in white or trash coat in gray (many layers).

The hair is a hockey or pot hairstyle.

Why is it the most post-apocalyptic hairstyle?

The androids talk and walk

, of course, a little more stilted than the humans, but also the humans, traumatized by their fates, have a little android-like expression.

The dialogue is mainly for information exchange and to explain to the viewer what kind of world we are in.

Raised by wolves is not really bad.

It is beautiful and dramaturgically well built, the dialogue is a bit dry, but there is nothing wrong with the acting.

It's not a cinematic cheat build.

Still, I get bored.

The problem is that it feels like it is done completely without joy or commitment.

The questions it raises are tired and asked many times before and you get the feeling that Ridley Scott and Aaron Guzikowski are two skilled craftsmen who made the series on autopilot with proven methods.

You have to be really fond of dry space deserts to be able to handle ten hours of this.

Raised by wolves premieres on HBO nordic on December 16.
