As the infection of the new coronavirus continues to spread, the beds for patients in Osaka Prefecture are becoming tight, and one of the reasons is that people who have recovered from their symptoms cannot be transferred to another hospital efficiently. The prefectural medical association submitted a request to the prefectural government and requested that a mechanism be put in place to coordinate the transfer of those who have recovered.

This was revealed at a press conference held by the Osaka Medical Association on the 15th.

In Osaka Prefecture, the "Hospitalization Follow-up Center" established by the prefecture adjusts the hospitalization destinations of patients, but the reality is that people who have recovered from their symptoms and are confirmed to be negative are transferred to the hospital at the medical site.

The request submitted to the prefecture states that it is difficult to vacate beds because it is not possible to efficiently transfer people who have recovered from their symptoms, and requests that a mechanism for adjusting the transfer be established promptly.

In addition to providing financial support to medical sites and training for medical staff to prevent nosocomial infections, medical staff are burdened with tasks such as cleaning patients' beds and changing linen. We are requesting enlightenment to have the contractor take charge.

Shigeto Shigematsu, Chairman of the Osaka Medical Association, said, "The Medical Association also wants to cooperate in securing hospitals that accept recovered people. On the other hand, reducing the number of infected people is the most important factor in preventing the tightness of beds. I want the citizens of the prefecture to take a step back during the New Year holidays, think about whether they really need to go out or meet, and relax at home. "
