At the meeting, Wang Dengfeng, director of the Department of Sports, Health and Art Education of the Ministry of Education, said that the physical examinations have been generally promoted throughout the country. Starting from 2021, the scores of the physical examinations in most provinces will increase significantly.

Although the scores of sports in the senior high school entrance examination are still quite different, it has achieved full coverage, that is, all places must be tested in sports in the senior high school entrance examination, and sports scores range from 30 to 100 points.
Starting from 2021, most provinces will increase the scores of physical education entrance examinations, and the increase is still relatively large.
[Explanation] At present, research on the use of sports literacy evaluation results in college admissions has been initiated.
Colleges and universities that implemented "independent enrollment" in 2019 and the "Strong Base Plan" in 2020 have also fully implemented a sports testing system in their admissions examinations.

In the "Strong Base Plan" for college entrance examination, it is clearly required that colleges and universities that admit candidates of the "Strong Base Plan" must conduct additional sports tests for these candidates.
Judging from the situation last year (2019), it should be said that various universities have done very well in this regard.
In addition to the enrollment of students specializing in sports, this is for ordinary candidates, and sports are also taken.
[Explanation] Wang Dengfeng said that during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, physical education reforms have become more in-depth. 95% of schools can guarantee students one hour of physical exercise a day, ensuring that students master 1-2 sports skills through physical exercise.
In addition, conditions such as the allocation of physical education teachers and the construction of venues and facilities have become increasingly sound.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, during the national compulsory education stage, the number of physical education teachers increased from 502,000 to 595,000, which is an increase of 93,000.
In addition, from the perspective of sports venues, during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the compliance rates of primary and middle school sports venues reached 90.22% and 93.54% respectively.
Well, in the past when the conditions for running sports schools were severely lacking, after the efforts of the "13th Five-Year Plan", it was possible to achieve a compliance rate of over 90%, which is also a huge achievement.

Especially with regard to the high school entrance examination for physical education, the Ministry of Education will launch a comprehensive survey, summarize the experiences and practices of various localities in promoting the entrance examination for high school physical education, and further sort out the test methods, test content, and scoring methods in various regions, so as to issue suggestions on the reform of the entrance examination for physical education as soon as possible. Further guide all localities to do a more scientific and efficient physical examination for senior high school students.
And in accordance with the requirements of the document, encouraging localities to gradually increase their scores can stimulate the enthusiasm of the majority of students to actively participate in physical exercises and sports competitions, thereby driving a change in the physical appearance of the entire school.
