Recently, the cooker hood caught fire when Xiao Wei, an 11-year-old primary school student in Nanning, Guangxi, was at home alone.

Xiao Wei managed to escape after calmly putting out the fire.

On the night of the incident, Xiao Wei turned on the range hood to ventilate after dinner, and the range hood caught fire during his dinner.

Xiao Wei turned off the power switch in the kitchen for the first time, walked into the toilet not far from the kitchen and used the shower to extinguish the fire; after the open flame was extinguished, Xiao Wei ran out of the room to turn off the power switch and dialed 119 to call the police Phone and accurately state the home address and fire situation.

After receiving the police, Nanning Jinkai Fire Station immediately dispatched 2 vehicles and 12 people to urgently deal with it. After helping to exhaust smoke and confirming that there was no open flame, the firefighters evacuated to the kitchen to comfort the frightened Xiao Wei and notify his parents.

Firefighters remind: It is not recommended or encouraged for children to put out the fire on their own when a fire occurs.

After the live equipment catches fire, some electrical appliances may still be charged inside after the switch is turned off, and may even explode when exposed to water. If possible, use a dry powder fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
