On December 12, the first immersed tube tunnel on the Han River, the Yuliangzhou River Crossing Tunnel on the east-west axis of Xiangyang, began to float and install the immersed tube.

  This time, six immersed pipes in the east branch water area were installed for floating transportation, with a total length of 660 meters.

Four of them are 120.5 meters long and weigh more than 30,000 tons. Like a small aircraft carrier, the other two are 86.5 meters long.

  A total of 10 sets of anchor piles were set up in the Han River during the floating, and 8 winches were erected on top of the immersed pipe. Through the traction of anchor piles and winches, as well as the precise positioning of the Beidou system and the precision of the new ballast water system of the immersed tube tunnel In cooperation, we strive to achieve a perfect docking of the immersed tube at the bottom of the Han River with a deviation of less than 2 cm.

  The Yuliangzhou section of the east-west axis of Xiangyang is a fast track connecting the Dongjin New District of Xiangyang City and the Old City of Fancheng. The total length is 5.4 kilometers. The tunnel structure is generally adopted. The immersed tube tunnel under the Han River is 1.01 kilometers long, the first in Central China. This inland river immersed tube tunnel is also the largest inland river immersed tube tunnel under construction in China, and is of great significance to lead the development of inland river immersed tube tunnel technology.

After the completion of the installation and docking of the immersed pipe at the bottom of the Han River, it means that the river bottom tunnel will be initially formed. When the tunnel is connected to the shore tunnel and the construction of related auxiliary facilities is completed, the tunnel across the river will be fully connected.
