Slight rebound in infections, which exceed 10,000 in one day.

The report published this Friday by the Ministry of Health

notifies 10,519 new confirmed cases since yesterday

, 2,564 more than on Thursday, when 7,955 positives were counted.

Since the start of the pandemic,

1,730,575 people

have been infected with coronavirus

.

Of the more than 10,000 new positives, 5,849 correspond to people who have undergone the diagnostic test in the last 24 hours.

Almost half of them continue to be concentrated in Madrid and Catalonia

, which report 1,568 and 1,043, respectively.

The data for both regions are quite far from the rest.

Thus, the community in third position is the Basque Country, which communicates 499.

47,624 dead without counting residences

As for deaths, these have dropped from 300 a day.

After 325 were counted yesterday, Health has today added 280 deaths to the global number of them, which today amount to 47,624 (data that does not include deaths in residences).

In the last week, 812 people have lost their lives to the virus.

Over the 100 deaths during this period of time are Andalusia and Castilla León

: 126, the first;

and 123, the second.

Bordering this threshold are Asturias, which scores 93;

Aragon, with 89;

and Valencia, 80. For their part, Castilla La Mancha and the Basque Country accumulate 43;

Galicia and Madrid, 39;

Catalonia, 37;

Murcia, 26;

Navarra and Extremadura, 17;

Cantabria, 15;

La Rioja, 12;

and the Canary Islands, 11. Likewise, the Balearic Islands reported two deaths in the last seven days;

and Ceuta and Melilla, none.

The cumulative incidence (AI) -number of cases diagnosed per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days- breaks, on the other hand, its downward curve that it maintained during the last two weeks and increases, although still barely significant.

In this sense,

the AI has increased to 189 cases compared to 188 yesterday

.

The regions with the highest rate are the Basque Country (275), Cantabria (258) and Melilla (252).

Remission of contagions

Despite this slight rebound in the data, the remission of the second wave is reflected in the number of weekly infections, which has been reduced by half in three weeks.

Specifically,

the official count of last Friday, November 20, registered a total of 79,003 cases in those last seven days

, more than double the 37,619 notified today.

Regarding hospitalizations, 2,126 people have been admitted in the last week (on Thursday, 2,075).

The community that leads this ranking continues to be Andalusia,

which reports 285 hospitalized during this period of time

, one more admission than the region in second position: Valencia.

Castilla y León is in third place with 235 new hospitalized.

Of these 2,126 patients, 176 have been transferred to intensive care and 97 since yesterday.

Thus, the total number of patients who have required

this hospital unit grows to 17,025

.

To date, 11,051 patients are admitted to the country, practically half the number a month ago.

Specifically, on November 11, the total hospitalized in Spain was 21,051.

More than half of those registered in this last count correspond to Catalonia (2,446)

, Madrid (1,615), Andalusia (1,476) and Valencia (1,175).

Fifth position in Europe

At the European level,

Spain remains in fifth place in the number of infections

, behind Russia (2,569,126), France (2,337,966), the United Kingdom (1,787,783) and Italy (1,787,147).

The United Kingdom is also the one that continues with the highest death toll (63,082), followed by Italy (62,626) and France (56,940).

Regarding the cumulative incidence of the virus in the European states that have accumulated a greater number of confirmed cases,

the rate in Sweden is still the highest and the only one with a rate greater than 700 infections

(specifically, 726).

With an AI greater than 500 positives are Switzerland (570), Austria (557), the Czech Republic (551), Portugal (533) and Turkey (531).

In this ranking, our country is in second position from the bottom, only behind Ireland (75).
