The cast of

Glee

has launched a fundraiser to honor the memory of Naya Rivera, who tragically died by drowning last summer.

In a video ad, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Dianna Agron and other

Glee

actors

discuss Naya Rivera's generosity, and more specifically her commitment to Alexandria House, a structure that provides housing for homeless mothers in Los Angeles.

The initiative was dubbed A Snixxmas Charity Drive, Snixxmas being the name Naya Nivera gave to her annual Christmas party.

On this occasion, participants were invited to bring back toys so that they could then be donated to the organization.

The donation campaign, underway on GoFundMe, has already met with great success.

After quickly reaching the $ 50,000 initially targeted, the fundraising is now close to reaching its new goal of $ 100,000.

A tragedy that could have been avoided

Recently, Ryan Dorsey, the ex-husband of Naya Rivera and father of Josey, her five-year-old son, decided to file a complaint following the disappearance of the actress.

He accuses the local authorities of not having sufficiently informed about the dangers of Lake Piru in which the actress drowned during a boat trip with her child.

A complaint also lodged in the name of little Josey who, according to the investigation, had managed to regain the deck of the boat thanks to the help of his mother who, unfortunately, was dragged to the bottom.
