On the islands of Vanuatu, locals have declared war on plastic -

The turquoise blue lagoon has turned green.

The reason: tons of plastic waste that has accumulated on land and in the sea. The community of Erakor Bridge, on the paradise island of Vanuatu, has declared war on plastic.

Faced with this scourge, the inhabitants are organizing themselves, as shown in this video from our partner Brut.

We see the community the community of Erakor Bridge meeting every week to pick up litter.

The collection begins at the edge of a lagoon and continues towards the gardens.

The inhabitants also use canoes in order to collect the rubbish that is in the water with courage and stubbornness.
