The main broadcaster of French football, Mediapro, confirmed Friday evening that it had reached an agreement with the Professional Football League (LFP) to withdraw from the market, the Sino-Spanish group said in a statement.

Mediapro and the League have "jointly defined the terms of an agreement which will lead to the recovery of the broadcasting rights of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches by the LFP in the near future", explains the group which holds 80% of the matches of L1 and L2 in a press release sent to AFP.

Mediapro confirms that the agreement will be submitted to the Nanterre Commercial Court "in the coming days" with a view to entering into force "as soon as possible".
