The Changsha City Public Security Bureau of Hunan Province issued a notice on its official Weibo a few days ago, saying that on December 9th, the Ministry of Public Security ordered the fugitive Zhang Chengyu to be arrested in Nanchang, Jiangxi. 6 people were killed and 2 people were seriously injured.
The report pointed out that in the 11 years since the incident occurred, the Changsha police have never stopped prosecuting and chasing Zhang Chengyu, especially since the nationwide public security organ homicide case attack this year, the criminal investigation department of the Changsha public security organ listed the "2009.8.2" homicide case as a key target case. Under the coordination and command of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security and the Hunan Provincial Public Security Department, modern scientific and technological means and traditional working methods have been used comprehensively to carry out the pursuit and arrest with unprecedented determination and strength.
On December 9th, with the strong assistance of the Nanchang police in Jiangxi, the fugitive was finally arrested.
Since the beginning of this year, the Changsha police have cracked 23 homicide cases and arrested 17 fugitives from homicide cases. Over the years, all major fugitives above the ministerial level have been cleared.
