Four executives of a temporary staffing agency in Tokyo were arrested on suspicion of promoting illegal employment for having Vietnamese perform work that is not permitted by their status of residence.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating that about 60 of the foreigners employed are in a state of illegal employment.

Four people were arrested, including Tomoichi Yamakawa (53), managing director of the temporary staffing agency "Motoki Shoji" in Toshima-ku, Tokyo.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the four people are suspected of promoting illegal employment, alleging that from November to October last year, Vietnamese in their 20s were forced to sort food items that are not recognized as a status of residence. I will.



Since then, the Metropolitan Police Department has been investigating a series of cases in which Vietnamese working at a sales office in Misato City, Saitama Prefecture, were arrested on suspicion of illegal employment.



This temporary staffing company was known among some Vietnamese living in Japan as "a company that hires even counterfeit residence cards."



Currently, more than 200 foreigners, mainly Vietnamese, are employed at the Misato City sales office, but the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating that about 60 of them were illegally employed.
