Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge -

As the UK entered its second deconfinement, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge boarded the Royal Train for a tour of the UK.

The goal: to thank all those who have worked for the good of the community during these nine months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first stop was in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The country means a lot to the royal family.

Queen Elisabeth II loves spending time in her Balmoral estate.

As for Prince William, it was at St Andrews University, located some 80 km from Edinburgh, that he met the one who was still only Kate Middleton in 2001.

The disadvantages of the train

If the couple appeared all smiles on their arrival in the Scottish capital, they had to deal with the constraints of the train journey.

As People notes, the Royal Train has only single beds.

A rather spartan trip that has nothing to do with a trip on the Orient Express if we are to believe the photos of the fittings unveiled by the Sun.

Nonetheless, that did not prevent the parents of Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte - who are not on the trip - from fulfilling their royal duties.

They thanked the Scottish paramedics and spoke of “the psychological and physical impact of the pandemic” on first aid.

As can be seen on their Twitter account, the next day they also greeted the team and students of the Holy Trinity Church of England First School in Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

'The Duke and Duchess stopped to mark the invaluable work of the teachers, including their efforts to keep schools open for vulnerable children and the children of essential workers during the pandemic, and the way they delivered online lessons for pupils at home ”, we can also read on their Instagram page.
