The "Osaka Corona Severe Medical Center" is a medical facility exclusively for critically ill patients, which was established by Osaka Prefecture on the premises of the "Osaka Acute Phase General Medical Center" in Sumiyoshi Ward amid the tight medical care of the new corona.

Governor Yoshimura of Osaka Prefecture visited the site on the 7th, before the operation started on the 15th of this month.

There are 30 beds dedicated to critically ill patients in this facility, and ventilators are installed in all beds.

Governor Yoshimura has requested the National Governors' Association and the Union of Kansai Governments to dispatch nurses, saying that there is a concern that the necessary nurses will be insufficient by the 15th of the start of operation.

After the inspection, Governor Yoshimura told reporters that he had secured 80 nurses so far, and said, "There is still not enough. Yesterday, I requested the Minister of Defense Kishi to dispatch the Self-Defense Forces." It was revealed that the nurse was requested to be dispatched to the Self-Defense Forces.

On top of that, Governor Yoshimura said, "There are few people who have the skills to handle critically ill patients, but I think we can dispatch a few people," and expressed expectations for the dispatch.
