An event was held to experience the harvest of the special product "Kokubun Carrot" in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, which is 1 meter long.

"Kokubun Carrot" is a special carrot cultivated in the Kokufu district of Takasaki City. The length from the leaf to the tip is 1 meter, and the edible part is about 60 cm, which is characterized by its sweetness and soft texture. ..

A harvesting experience was held on the 5th, and about 40 people participated in order to let the locals know about the local specialties.

Kokubu carrots were cultivated by about 300 farmers around 1955, but with the spread of refrigerators, short varieties of carrots have become popular, and currently only 4 are cultivated.

Under the guidance of the farmers, the participants carefully pulled out each one so that they would not break in the middle, and harvested about 3,000 in about two hours.

A 6-year-old boy who participated with his mother said, "I didn't think it was this long. It was fun."

A woman in her 40s who participated in the family said, "I'm glad I had a valuable farming experience with my children. I want to eat it as a kinpira."
