Memory Walks with Love "On the Way Home" Cai Guoqing uses singing to guard the memory of love

He began to perform at the age of seven, released his first solo record at the age of ten, and appeared on the stage of the "Spring Festival Gala" twenty-four times. Speaking of singer Cai Guoqing, the audience would remember the songs sung by him: "Beijing Bridge", "Chang Hui" Look at Home", "365 Blessings", etc.

This Friday, the first large-scale emotional outdoor reality show "On the Way Home" produced and launched by the Central Radio and Television Center's Art Program Center will look back on the past with Cai Guoqing and find the direction of home in memory.

Memory is "the weather vane of home"

For Cai Guoqing, his understanding of art since childhood is inseparable from the influence of his family on him.

Before Cai Guoqing was 5 years old, he lived with his parents close to the Central Ballet, and often had the opportunity to go to the rehearsal hall to watch the ballerinas rehearse.

The beautiful dance and the pleasant piano sound became his childhood art enlightenment class.

The peace and beauty experienced by the ballet dancers' rehearsal has also been imprinted in Cai Guoqing's heart.

When living in my grandmother's house, the days of climbing jujube trees, pulling roots, and shooting foreign paintings with my friends in the old Beijing hutongs were even more memorable and happy childhood.

After 50 years, when Cai Guoqing returned to the place where he once lived, the memories of the old moment came to his mind. The appearance of his father walking from a distance with a backpack on his back seemed to be yesterday.

Although the old hutongs and old houses have not changed for many years, the plants and trees are still the same, but the friends who laughed together as a child have long since dispersed, and the parents who accompanied him are full of gray hair. Cai Guoqing can't help but sigh: "Only those good memories will always be remembered in my heart, guiding him the way home.

Singing leads "the direction of home"

If memories indicate the direction for people to go home, for people with Alzheimer's disease, the ability to distinguish directions is almost lost.

In 2005, Cai Guoqing's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She had been ill for 15 years and almost lost all her memory and ability to distinguish relatives.

In the program, after Cai Guoqing heard that 92-year-old Huang Grandma and her mother had the same Alzheimer's disease, she made a special trip to visit the elderly apartment.

When communicating with Grandma Huang’s family, Cai Guoqing found that the songs he sang in the "Spring Festival Gala" were common memories for everyone. He hoped that through singing and music, he would evoke the memory of the old man spending the festival with his family.

Cai Guoqing believes that music can create miracles. The same music can help "lost" old people find their way home, even if it is just a moment of sobriety, it is a great comfort and happiness to their families.

"Every piece of memory is spliced into a colorful puzzle of life." No matter how many wonderful scenery you encounter on the road in life, in everyone's heart, home is always the most practical and warm home. At 20:33 on the evening of December 4th, CCTV variety channel "Walking on the Way Home", together with Cai Guoqing, returned to youth in the singing, looking for the original intention on the way home.
