In 2005, Cai Guoqing's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She had been ill for 15 years and almost lost all her memory and ability to distinguish relatives.
In the program, after Cai Guoqing heard that 92-year-old Huang Grandma and her mother had the same Alzheimer's disease, she made a special trip to visit the elderly apartment.
When communicating with Grandma Huang’s family, Cai Guoqing found that the songs he sang in the "Spring Festival Gala" were common memories for everyone. He hoped that through singing and music, he would evoke the memory of the old man spending the festival with his family.
