Beijing News (Reporter Liu Ruiming) On December 3, a component of the pedestrian bridge under construction at the Luoxi Bridge in Panyu District, Guangzhou City fell off.
The Beijing News reporter learned from Deputy Leader Yi Liang of the Transportation Bureau of Panyu District, Guangzhou that a 66-meter-long steel truss beam fell off. Three small cars under the bridge were slightly damaged. The accident did not cause casualties.
The on-site screen showed that the dropped components were lying on the road, and a crane arrived at the site for work.
The part where the component falls off has been enclosed by the isolation belt.
There are traffic police directing traffic at the scene.
On December 3, a staff member of the Emergency Management Bureau of Panyu District, Guangzhou told a reporter from the Beijing News, "This is not a collapse of a footbridge and no casualties. The specific situation is still being verified."
A deputy team leader surnamed Liang of the Transportation Bureau of Panyu District, Guangzhou, who is in charge of traffic construction, told the Beijing News that his department had rushed to the scene to check the situation after receiving the report at around 9 in the morning.
The aforementioned deputy team leader surnamed Liang said that since the incident occurred in the early morning, no casualties were caused.
The project involved in the incident was a subsidiary project of the Luoxi Bridge project under construction. It was a 66-meter-long steel truss beam of the pedestrian bridge that fell off.
Three cars were slightly damaged in the parking lot under the bridge. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.

According to media reports, the Luoxi Bridge widening project is the first long-span composite beam cable-stayed bridge in Guangzhou, and it is also a central area traffic project that the Guangzhou Transportation Bureau will deploy this year to promote construction.
Construction started in May 2018. By the end of October this year, the widening project of Luoxi Bridge has successfully completed the closure of the new bridge on the right, and the new bridge of Luoxi Bridge is fully connected.
