Ebao Village, where Renqing Duoye’s family is located, is located on the east section of Eqi Road in Ebao Town, southeast of Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The village has 326 herdsmen households with 1,144 people, including 44 poor households with 111 people.
The 35-year-old Ren Qingduo is also the director of the Ebao village committee and a rich master in the village.
But five years ago, he was still a poor household in the village.
Ren Qingduo also raised a son and a daughter with his wife. Due to the lack of grassland in the family, the family of four did not live well.
Coupled with his son's second-degree intellectual disability, the family was once struggling.
Renqingduo also tried to dig cordyceps and help others to graze to make money, but his income was very low.
Later, he borrowed money from relatives and friends to start a cattle and sheep trafficking business.
“Buying cattle and sheep from Qinghai, and then selling them to Gansu, a cow can earn up to 600 yuan.” Ren Qingduo also said that income has indeed increased, but the husband and wife have been taking their son to see the doctor and the expenses are not small for several years. They have taken a lot of debts.
In 2015, Renqingduo also became a poverty-stricken household with registered documents.
Through the implementation of the dilapidated building renovation project, the government helped their home build a new house, and also provided free running water to the door.
But only relying on poverty subsidies can only maintain the daily needs of the home, which is far from getting rid of poverty and becoming rich.
He held back his energy, and must live a good life with his hands.
While he was thinking about how to have a new way out, rural poverty alleviation as a strategic industry and Huimin project in Qilian County opened a window for poor households.
Good scenery has become "good money scenery".
Relying on the creation of the beautiful plateau scenery of the "Oriental Switzerland" and "Heavenly Qilian", the Qilian County Government implemented the strategy of "Tourism Targeted Poverty Alleviation", vigorously developed rural tourism, and formed a "tourism +" poverty alleviation development model.
Renqingduo also applied for a microloan and opened a new type of pastoral music in the village that integrates catering, accommodation, entertainment and viewing.
"Mujiara provides tourists with special Tibetan meals such as tsampa, yogurt, and milk tea. Tourists can also experience horseback riding and live in tents. It attracts many tourists in summer." Renqingdo also said that in the first year of opening, he made a profit. Eighty thousand yuan.
In summer, he engages in shepherd's family music to eat tourist meals, and in winter when there are fewer tourists, he picks up his old business of trafficking cattle and sheep.
Renqingduo also continued to expand the scale of Mujiale's business, and his wallet slowly bulged up. Not only did he pay off the debt he owed before, he also bought a car.
Renqingduo, who is steadfast and hardworking, not only fought a beautiful "turning over", but also drove the surrounding poor households out of poverty and became rich.
In the past few years, Renqingduo has also hired three poor households in the same village to work in Mujiale, and voluntarily gave out the family’s property-to-house dividend funds to poor households to help them increase their income.
The county commended the glorious families who got rid of poverty, and Ren Qingduo became the best candidate for the village.
When receiving the commendation, the government rewarded each of the county's honorable poverty alleviation households with an agricultural vehicle, which became his pride.
From a poor household to a village committee director, when talking about the change of identity, Ren Qingduo also sighed: "It is the party's poverty alleviation policy that has changed my destiny."
Qilian County has a total population of 52,600, and ethnic minorities account for more than 80% of the county's total population. In 2015, the county identified 1,504 registered poor households with 4823 people.
In May 2019, Qilian County took off its poor county hat.
The new year is about to start, and Renqingduo also has a new vision.
"I have registered and set up a family ranch. Next year, I plan to work together with other herdsmen in the village to jointly operate the farm, transfer the pasture to engage in large-scale cattle and sheep breeding, and get rich with the villagers and live a better life."
