South Africa's national lottery organization has been accused of fraud on social media, after the winning numbers of the most recent draw were consecutive.

Twenty players who had the numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 on their lottery ticket each won around 300,000 euros.

Another nearly eighty others had only chosen the numbers 5 to 9: they win about 300 euros.

According to the lottery, the outcome is "unexpected".

However, many people play with such series of numbers, the lottery emphasizes.

The National Lottery Commission of South Africa has started an investigation into the draw.

"We are looking to see if anything went wrong," said spokesman Ndivhuho Mafela.

Allegations are raining on social media against the organization behind the national lottery. "This outcome has been discussed and compiled by twenty people,"
