At around 22:00 on November 28, at the Whampoa Wenchong Longxue Port in Nansha, Guangzhou, the S08 contract section of the Shenzhen-Medium Corridor Poly grew up. The Guangzhou Salvage Bureau once again completed the world-class challenge. The second "ultra-wide, widened" non-standard pipe section with a weight of 66,000 tons-E31 pipe section is twisted out of the dock.

The reporter learned from the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau that the E31 pipe section is difficult to undock this time and the risk is high. Compared with the E32 pipe section that was just completed in July this year, its draft is larger, and the high tide time that can be used for undocking is longer. Short, the various docks in the harbor basin are full of ship products, and the construction area is even narrower.

The engineering technology and construction personnel of the project department have formulated a detailed and scientific construction plan for this purpose, simplifying and optimizing the undocking action as much as possible under the premise of ensuring the safety of the pipe joints, saving valuable tide time, and doing enough before undocking. Sufficient preparations are made to list each work to be inspected to ensure the safety of the pipe joints during the docking and undocking process.

After being undocked, due to the limited space in the harbor basin, the E31 pipe section has to make a 90-degree turn and insert it straight into the sitting area adjacent to the E32 pipe section.

After the E31 pipe section is transferred to the storage area in the harbor, it needs to be placed here for nearly one year. For this purpose, the project department has completed the laying of over 12,000 square meters of crushed stone cushion in advance, creating a comfortable and perfect E31 pipe section The "bed" can withstand the once-in-50-year typhoon conditions.

The smooth undock and bottom placement of the E31 pipe section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor will contribute to the interconnection of the urban agglomeration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong Bay Area and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent sinking and installation of the pipe section.

Next, the project department will intensively carry out the prefabrication, outfitting, undocking and bottoming of the remaining 8 pipe sections in the tender section. It is expected that the tender section will complete the installation of all pipe sections by the end of 2022.
