Agriculture today occupies nearly 50% of the surface of the emerged lands at the world level, a surface which did not cease increasing since the Sixties. This evolution results from a profound transformation of the whole system. food with environmental impacts which are not negligible.

The areas gained by agriculture have been to the detriment of tropical forests, destroying in passing an unparalleled biodiversity ... Also a considerable increase in food demand due to population growth and diets giving an ever more important place to animal protein.

Agriculture is at the heart of global geopolitics.

Hunger revolts, disputed land, scarce water, food security or insecurity.

A look at the geopolitical issues of agriculture as the Covid-19 crisis and the fear of scarcity that accompanied it remind us of its pivotal role and reaffirm that there is no sovereignty or power without Food Safety.
