WORLD:

Ms. Mangelsdorf, what are your three best tips for growing in a crisis?

Judith Mangelsdorf:

First: think about when in your life you have coped well with a crisis that was difficult for you.

Write as comprehensive a list as possible of all of the people and people who helped you back then.

The next time you find yourself in a dire situation, take this list out and do at least two or three of the things, consciously contact two or three of the people on this list again.

Second, get as much social interaction as possible.

We humans are social animals.

Exchanging ideas with others, noticing that others are living in the same situation, massively relieves our system.
