, Salvador Illa, appeared on Friday to explain new advances on the

vaccination

strategy

in Spain to deal with

covid-19

.

This strategy will run from the beginning of next year until the summer months and will have three phases.

If Health announced days ago that in a first stage of vaccination, between January and March,

be vaccinated four population groups

that are

priority

(residents and staff health centers, personal health frontline other healthcare professional and socio-sanitary, and large non-institutionalized dependents), has now advanced that the technical group that is working on the strategy has defined 15 population groups that will be progressively added as the number of vaccines increases.

  • General population older than 64 years

  • People with severe disabilities

  • Population with risk conditions

  • People who live or work in closed environments

  • People belonging to vulnerable populations due to their socioeconomic situation

  • Children population

  • Adolescent and young population

  • Adult population set

  • Population especially affected by the possibility of outbreaks

  • Pregnant and lactating

  • Population immunized against SARS-CoV-2

  • Along with this, Illa has pointed out that both the initial groups of the

    first phase

    and those analyzed

    to join the second and third stages

    have been analyzed according to four criteria: risk of morbidity, risk of exposure, risk of socioeconomic impact and risk of exposure.
