A key word for this year's biennial is Realism.

The art direction that was born in the 19th century;

how should it be interpreted today?

In the Luleå Biennale's version of realism, it becomes very theatrical, says one of the curators, Emily Fahlén:

- It goes far from the realistic, the documentary;

we probably broaden the idea of what realism can include.

Exhibiting artists include Apostolos Giorgiou, Susanna Jablonski, Måns Wrange, and many others, but also the playwright Dimen Abdulla and the author Linnea Axelsson.

The art can be seen in Luleå, Boden, Arjeplog, Korpilombolo, Malmberget and Storforsen.
