[Poverty alleviation story] Cultural and tourism integration road from poor households to villagers in Hatuala Village

[Explanation] The old couple in the picture, named Yuan Zhenxiang and Jin Hongzhen, are now 81 and 82 years old respectively.

A few years ago, the old couple had to work day after day due to living in poverty, but now, the two old people have become renters and renters.

Every year, they can collect 8,000 yuan in rent without doing anything. Together with other dividend subsidies, the husband and wife finally get rid of the "poverty hat" for many years and can support their lives.

[Explanation] Two old couples, Yuan Zhenxiang and Jin Hongzhen, are villagers in Hetuala Village, Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Talking about their poverty process, people can't help but sigh.

The old couple has always been industrious. Although they are not financially rich, they are also prosperous. They have two children and two daughters, and their lives are stable.

But an accidental car accident became the beginning of a difficult life for the couple.

The (older) son is sick (stomach cancer), the little girl is sick (stomach cancer), the second son died in a car accident, and the person who caused the accident, the family was poor and didn’t give much money. I had to take care of my second son and wife. Take care of my granddaughter (second son and daughter) to school.

Because of this, (become) a poor household.

[Explanation] Years of poverty have left the old couple exhausted physically and mentally. Even with all kinds of help, they still cannot solve the fundamental problem.

However, with the growing prosperity of the cultural tourism industry in Hetuala Village where they are located, the couple rented the 4 houses they lived in to the village to transform them into guest houses. The annual rental income was 8,000 yuan, plus other dividend subsidies. The old couple’s annual income Reaching RMB 26,604, the "poor hat" is removed.

There are no worries about that now, and no worries anymore.

Living conditions are surplus.

I can buy everything, and I can eat everything.

(Leasing) The house is 8,000 per year, and here (renting a house for one year) it’s only 1,200 yuan, which is not too far away.

The cost of living (for us) is enough when we are old.

[Explanation] Since 2013, with the support of the higher-level government, Hetuala Village has begun to develop rural tourism, develop tourism products with Manchu characteristics, and expand the road to wealth by focusing on leisure sightseeing agriculture and rural tourism.

Today, a cultural and tourism integration industry development model based on rural tourism and additional culture has been formed.

There are not only farmhouses in the village, but also hand-crafted workshops for intangible cultural heritage projects. One of the embroidered workshops supported by Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County has not only inherited the intangible cultural heritage projects, but has also become a new engine for the locals to become well-off.

One of us is to add a bright spot in this village.

The other one is with this villager, including many (peripheral) villages now. The people in this village are all my students. After our students have been trained, he can follow us in our company. This kind of lead task of piece counting.

[Explanation] With the growth of Hetuala Village, many problems have emerged one after another, such as insufficient tourism depth and low winter attractiveness, which have been solved one by one.

Nowadays, the problem facing the village is the same as the problem that restricts the development of many villages, and that is the lack of talents of the new generation.

[Concurrent] Luo Tiancheng, Secretary of the Party Branch of Hetuala Village

I feel right now that when our industry is developing to the current stage, what we lack most is professional management talents. I also hope to put forward an initiative. College students from our villages go back to their hometowns to start businesses, because our area really lacks professionals. For industrial development, reserve the reserve power.

[Explanation] In recent years, Hetuala Village has been awarded as "China's Manchu First Village", "China's Beautiful Leisure Village", and "Chinese Traditional Village" by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Culture, National Tourism Administration and other ministries and commissions. , "China Rural Tourism Model Village" and other honorary titles.

Relying on the rich history and culture and Manchu folk culture, with "the birthplace of Manchu, the hometown of Nurhachi" as its origin, this small mountain village in the northeast is embarking on a unique path of cultural and tourism integration.

At present, Hetuala Village receives 1.1 million tourists annually, with a total income of over 100 million yuan.
