[Explanation] On November 25, the "Innovation and Upgrade·Hong Kong Forum" with the theme of "Innovative Technology Sichuan-Hong Kong Cooperation" was held in Chengdu, attracting more than 1,000 representatives of Sichuan and Hong Kong political and business circles to participate through online and offline methods.
[Explanation] In recent years, the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and humanities between Sichuan and Hong Kong have become closer and more effective.
It is understood that as of now, Hong Kong has established and invested 5868 companies in Sichuan, with a total capital of 68.86 billion U.S. dollars; Sichuan has established more than 300 companies in Hong Kong, with a cumulative investment of more than 4 billion U.S. dollars.
Li Yunyan, Director of the Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Chengdu, said that the proposed strategy for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing dual-city economic circle has attracted more Hong Kong companies' attention to the region.
At the same time, as the cooperation between Sichuan and Hong Kong continues to deepen, the industries and regions involved in Hong Kong companies investing in Sichuan have become more diverse.

Now our Hong Kong companies also account for more than 60% of the total foreign investment in Sichuan Province. We hope this figure will increase even further.
After the upward rise, we also hope that Hong Kong companies can diversify their industries here. From the original real estate, hotels and other catering, we will expand to other different industries, including emerging cultural and creative industries, medical care, education and so on.
From a geographical point of view, we also hope that Hong Kong companies can pay attention to other cities in Sichuan other than Chengdu, and go to Meishan, Mianyang, etc., to do different developments.
We also hope that through such a large-scale event, we can provide a platform for companies in different industries in Sichuan and Hong Kong to get to know each other and then seek common business opportunities.
[Explanation] In the 2020 QS World University Rankings, five universities in Hong Kong are among the top 100 in the world.
Feng Hao, deputy dean of the Chengdu Research Institute of City University of Hong Kong, believes that as Sichuan and Hong Kong step up cooperation, the transformation of talents and scientific research results from Hong Kong universities will be accelerated in Sichuan.

So now the country is also particularly advocating the transformation of achievements, and Hong Kong is also a pioneering demonstration city for the transformation of international patents and international achievements.
Universities in Hong Kong including (Hong Kong) City University, many of our international patents have been in Hong Kong, and have been well transformed and utilized in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Including Sichuan and Chongqing, there is a great need for such a good experience and mode of transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
[Explanation] Zhong Yongxi, the chief representative of the Mainland China of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, said that the new crown pneumonia epidemic has severely hit the global economy. As the Mainland economy gradually stabilizes, Hong Kong should focus on seizing opportunities in the Mainland market.
I hope that through the exchange platform established by this forum, more Hong Kong companies will discover the development opportunities in the Chengdu-Chongqing region and participate in the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing region's dual-city economic circle.

We have also seen that in the Mainland, the entire epidemic prevention and control is ahead of the world, and the resumption of work and production and economic recovery are also in a normal state.
Therefore, we feel that many (Hong Kong) companies that are originally engaged in foreign trade exports, we hope they can put their attention on our inland market and integrate into the overall development of our country.
Especially now we see that Chengyu (regional twin-city economic circle) has risen to a national development strategy. At this time, how do we participate in the construction of Chengyu (regional twin-city economic circle), put our talents, funds, and Bringing our projects and technology is a new highlight of our future cooperation between Sichuan and Hong Kong.
[Explanation] It is reported that the "Innovation and Upgrading Hong Kong Forum" is an event organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in the Mainland since 2011. It is held in Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu and other cities in turn.
During this forum, there will also be seminars on the industrialization of technology, innovation and technology enterprise financing, smart manufacturing, 5G infrastructure, smart supply chain and other topics.
