Weekly Shonen Jump Manga Original Author Compulsory Obscenity Indictment Content Admitted November 24, 13:15

The first trial of a case in which the original author of Weekly Shonen Jump's popular manga was accused of indecent acts against a junior high school girl on the street was held in the Tokyo District Court, and the defendant admitted the charges.

Tatsuya Matsuki (29), the original author of the popular manga "Act-Age" serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, approached a 14-year-old junior high school girl on a bicycle and touched her body on the streets of Nakano-ku, Tokyo in June. As a result, he is accused of forced indecency.

At the first trial held at the Tokyo District Court on the 24th, the defendant admitted the indictment.

When asked about his motives, the defendant said, "I had multiple worries and anxieties, but I couldn't say it and I was desperate. There was also a complex for women, and I hit a stranger." Said.

He also apologized, "I have done something I cannot apologize to the victim."

While the prosecutor's office sentenced him to one year and six months in prison, the defendant's lawyer demanded a suspended sentence, stating that he was "socially sanctioned, such as the lack of serialization of comics."

The verdict will be handed down on the 23rd of next month.
