The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it has confirmed that 186 new people are infected with the new coronavirus in Tokyo at the preliminary figures as of 3:00 pm on the 24th.
It is the first time that the number of confirmed infections per day has dropped below 200 since the 16th of this month, eight days ago.
Meanwhile, the city has corrected that 11 people who have announced that they have confirmed the infection so far have been negative as a result of retesting.
Eight of these are due to the medical institution performing the test in the wrong procedure.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in Tokyo to 38,197.
