Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, expressed their sadness at the departure of their dog "Lobo" after it was "part of their family" for 9 years.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted a photo on their Instagram account of the dog Lobo, accompanied by a comment that reads: "With the utmost sadness at the end of last week, our dear dog Lobo passed away."

Prince William and Kate added, "He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him a lot."

William and Kate received the dog Lobo as a gift for their marriage, from James Middleton, Kate's brother.

Middleton commented on Instagram about Lobo's death, saying, "Nothing can ever prepare you for losing a dog. For those who have never owned a dog, it can be difficult to understand the loss."
