On November 22, the "Chinese Arctic" Mohe City, Heilongjiang Province, located in the northernmost part of the motherland, continued to usher in the cooling weather. The Lotus Lake in the Guanyin Mountain Scenic Area of Mohe City has been completely frozen, and a string of pure white can be seen through the ice. The bubbles are distributed in the ice layer, forming a group of vivid "ice bubble" wonders.
"Ice bubbles" are formed when the biogas (methane) released by the plants at the bottom of the lake is "locked" in the ice layer during the ascent process due to the extremely cold temperature causing the ice to be too fast.
