Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, announced sad news this weekend.

Their faithful Lupo has passed away.

The royal couple announced the death of their dog on Instagram.

“Last weekend, unfortunately, our beloved dog, Lupo, passed away.

He has been the heart of our family for the past nine years and he will be sorely missed, ”the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge captioned a photo of the black spaniel.

A constant companion

Lupo had been given to Kate and William as a wedding gift by James Middleton, the brother of the Duchess of Cambridge.

He had totally adapted to the birth of Prince George, as the future King of England had confided at the time.

“Like a lot of people who have dogs and have had a newborn baby, it takes a bit of time to adjust, but, no, (Lupo) is fine.

He drooled all over the house, so he is perfectly happy, ”said the son of Prince Charles at the time, as Sky News recalls.

Kate Middleton's brother also paid tribute to the faithful companion.

“For those who have never had a dog, it may be difficult to understand the loss.

But those who have loved a dog know the truth: a dog is not just a pet, it is a family member, a best friend, a loyal companion, a teacher and a therapist ”, a- he writes on Instagram.
