Sheikha played a prominent role in crowning Sharjah with the title of "World Book Capital 2019", making Sharjah the first Gulf city to obtain this title, and the third in the Arab world and the Middle East region, where Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi chaired the advisory committee and the Sharjah World Book Capital office.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi has taken great steps to support the right of children and adolescents to have a high-quality knowledge and creative product that advances their future and meets their aspirations, as she launched a number of campaigns under the umbrella of the Kalimat Foundation for Child Empowerment, with the aim of providing books to refugees and children affected by conflicts and wars around the world. Kalimat is concerned with publishing books for children and adolescents in the Arabic language, in addition to establishing the UAE Council on Books for Young People, the national branch of the International Council on Books for Young People.

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi affirmed her vision to support the book industry at the international level, by establishing PublisHer, the platform aimed at building a supportive and global community of publishers, promoting diversity and equal opportunities in the global publishing sector. She also led efforts to organize The IFAD Regional Conference in Lagos, Nairobi and Amman.

It is noteworthy that the International Publishers Federation is one of the oldest international professional organizations in the world, which includes national and regional publishers' federations, and through its members it represents the interests of thousands of them around the world.

Founded in 1896 in Paris, the Federation is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and includes in its membership more than 83 organizations and publishers' associations from about 69 countries around the world.
