In the Europe of the 1950s, where millions of children found themselves left to their own devices, youth was at the heart of adults' utopias.

While communities called “Children's Republics” are emerging and experimenting with “self-governance”, “delinquent” youth find themselves at the heart of the experimentation with juvenile justice, established by the famous 1945 ordinance.
