"Poinsettia", a foliage plant that colors Christmas, is actively shipping Saitama Iruma November 22, 13:27

Shipment of poinsettia, which is popular as a foliage plant that colors Christmas, is being actively carried out in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture.

Poinsettia, which is native to Mexico and is colored red and pink, is a popular foliage plant to decorate for Christmas.

About 60,000 poinsettias are cultivated in the agricultural greenhouse of Takayuki Shino (48), a horticultural farmer in Iruma City, and shipping work began in the middle of this month.

In agricultural greenhouses, the classic red and pink poinsettia potted plants were lined up in a row, and employees were working to cover the potted plants with sheets.

This year, from last month to this month, the sunny days continued, so the colors were faster and the shipment was about a week earlier than usual.

Mr. Shino said, "I'm having a hard life with the corona sickness, so I'd be happy if you could see Poinsettia, heal your heart, and rejuvenate."

Shipments of poinsettia in Iruma City will continue until the end of next month, and will be shipped mainly to markets in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
