Actress Naya Rivera -

Landmark / Starface

Had the authorities sufficiently secured and informed the public of the dangers of Lake Piru, where Naya Rivera drowned?

According to the complaint filed by Ryan Dorsey, the ex-husband of the

Glee

actress

, on behalf of their son, Josey, the answer is no.

He denounces indeed several failings and negligence on the part of the county of Ventura, which would have caused the death of his ex-wife.

As noted by the

Guardian

, he blames the lack of equipment on the boat she had rented which would have allowed her not to be far from the ship and to be able to get back up easily.

He noted that the boat had no ladder, radio, rope, anchor or even lifebuoy or other emergency flotation system.

On the day Naya Rivera drowned, her then four-year-old son Josey was found on the boat's pontoon alone.

He was wearing a life jacket.

Another life jacket, adult size, was also found on the boat.

The boat rental company had specified that the actress had not wanted a life jacket for her, but that he had put one on board anyway.

In the name of the son

In addition, Josey's father also denounces the lack of signs warning against the dangers of Lake Piru, such as "strong currents, lack of visibility, strong winds".

The complaint indicates that the boat started to drift away from Naya Rivera and her son who were swimming nearby because of "probably the current and the wind blowing at 34km / h this afternoon".

The complaint, filed on behalf of the son of the

Glee

star

, also provides clarification as to the circumstances of the drowning.

Little Josey managed to get back on the boat alone and heard his mother calling for help when she couldn't follow him.

The first reports indicated that Naya Rivera had helped her son to get back on the pontoon, before being carried away in the background.
