On November 17, staff of Qiqing Resource Management and Protection Station of Qifeng Nature Reserve, Zhangye Branch of the Gansu Administration of Qilian Mountain National Park discovered a state-level protected animal snow leopard during the patrol in Toudaogou, and took a close-up shot of it with a mobile phone. Record the active screen.

The snow leopard is a national first-class protected animal and the flagship species of the national park. It is the cat with the highest altitude inhabiting the national park. It is vital to maintaining the stability and health of the Qilian Mountain ecosystem.

According to routine surveys and infrared camera photography, snow leopards have obvious differences in the use of various types of vegetation and landscapes, mainly due to the difference in the distribution of the snow leopard’s most important prey, the rock sheep, which is closely related to the distribution of the rock sheep. Snow leopards have frequent activities in areas with a high density of rock sheep, while snow leopards have low frequency in areas with low density of rock sheep.

It is understood that the snow leopard is alert by nature and good at disguising. It is rare to be able to take a close-up photo of it with a mobile phone.

In recent years, as the Zhangye Branch of the Gansu Provincial Administration of Giant Panda Qilian Mountain National Park continues to implement the most stringent ecological protection measures, ecological environmental protection has been continuously strengthened, and the population and number of various wild animals have increased significantly.

It provides a paradise for the snow leopard, white-lipped deer and other rare animals in the reserve.
