[Dancing along the Yangtze River Economic Belt and looking at high-quality development] Once "there were women who did not marry Yuhu Village", now the ancient village relies on tourism to earn over 10 million

[Explanation] Yuhu Village is a Naxi village located at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, a famous scenic spot in Lijiang.

It has natural beauty, rich ethnic culture and distinctive architecture, and is known as "a paradise made of stones."

But in the past, Yuhu Village was a typical poor village and problem village. There was even a saying in the local area that "there are women who do not marry Yuhu Village".

Our village used to look quite poor, and it was all over here when we walked.

It used to be the ditch dung, pig dung, and more horse dung in the road.

It's not good when farming, because our soil is too loose, so it can be planted but the yield is low.

Buy the fertilizer after the grain is sold, and then it will be gone.

[Explanation] He Shengjun, 53 years old this year, is a native of Yuhu Village. His poverty life has changed since 2004.

At that time, tourism cooperatives were established in the village, and the regular management and gradually better rural environment attracted more and more tourists.

Since there are tourist cooperatives, the guests will be more at ease, they believe it, and the safety guarantee is also provided.

Especially after the construction of the village is better, more guests come in.

We raise horses in every household, and sometimes (I) lead the horses when the guests come to the village.

In the back, I bought a car after there were more guests, and I specially brought the guests to the village, and (just) had income.

[Explanation] Now, He Shengjun and his family of four are engaged in tourism-related work in Yuhu Village.

The family's annual income has ranged from about 20,000 yuan to about 80,000 yuan in tourism alone.

In recent years, the family has also built a new house, and plans to be a farmhouse in the future.

My daughter-in-law is a horse, my son is a photographer, and my girl also works in the hotel.

Generally, there are seven to eighty thousand down a year.

If conditions permit, we will also engage in farmhouses or inns in the future. I have this idea.

[Explanation] Tourism cooperatives are an innovative way of Yuhu Village relying on the natural environment.

The director of the Village Supervision Committee and Xinhua are among the start-ups of the cooperative.

He said that at first, some tourists were attracted by the village’s simple people’s sentiments, and some villagers formed horse teams to solicit visitors. However, the disorder formed malicious competition, which was not conducive to long-term development.

After the cooperative was established, the villagers used horses to buy shares and took turns to participate, and their income rose year by year.

We have compiled a number for the farmers in a unified way, and the farmers can participate in the services of our tourism cooperative in an orderly manner.

Shared resources, shared benefits, everyone participates, and every household benefits.

In 2003, the total economic output of our Yuhu Village was only 2.34 million yuan.

According to statistics at the end of 2019, the total economic output of the entire village of Yuhu Village has reached 17 million, and the total tourism revenue alone has exceeded 10 million.

[Explanation] Today, Yuhu Village has become a provincial-level civilized village and a beautiful village.

A tourism industry pattern with Yuhu Tourism Cooperative as the mainstay and tourism inn, tourism catering and tourism shopping supplemented by villagers' voluntary participation has been formed.

We have now reached 90% of the villagers are involved in rural tourism services.

At present, our (cooperative) business is mainly based on horse-riding sightseeing eco-tourism.

(In the village) 7 of the 8 homestays are built by foreigners.

We need to solve such a problem and encourage villagers to develop farmhouses and homestays. In this way, we can greatly retain the original ethnic cultural elements of our Yuhu Village, so that foreign tourists can truly experience our Naxi people in Yuhu Village. culture.
