The Monsignor

  • The nightclub Le Monseigneur offers this Thursday a live Instagram of one hour to try "to keep a link" with its customers.

  • A DJ will be present to animate the event and a cocktail workshop will be offered.

  • The meeting could become weekly with guests and other activities.

This Thursday, it will be exactly 250 days that Sébastien Labeyrie will not have opened the doors of the Bishop.

After more than eight months of closure, the boss of the old Bordeaux nightclub describes “a catastrophic situation” in which he lost five years of cash.

"We are the forgotten people of this health crisis, we have been closed since the first day, we simply received some aid for the months of June, July and August, crumbs compared to our operating loss and we survive today thanks to a loan guaranteed by the State (PGE) that will have to be repaid at some point, ”explains the one who has his 14 employees on partial unemployment.

In the profession, a figure is circulating: 300 establishments (out of 1,600) could go out of business in the coming weeks for lack of new aid.

The picture is black.

But despite this context, Sébastien Labeyrie "tries to stay positive" and "to keep his nightclub alive" as best he can from a distance to "keep the link" with his customers. This Thursday, he offers a live musical - but not only - from 7 p.m. on Instagram.

An event that could become weekly if the public is present.

Remote cocktail workshop

Failing to be on the dancefloor, it will be above all for the person in charge of the Monsignor to remember the good old days and to “share a moment together” at aperitif time.

For an hour, he will answer in particular the questions of his customers because "without them I am nothing" as he repeats it to

20 Minutes.

For this first date, he called on a DJ friend to set the mood.

Not on the track but at home.

The playlist should bring back some memories to regulars.

In short, a great classic.

What will be much less is the cocktail workshop offered by the establishment during this live.

Sébastien Labeyrie called on one of his waitresses for the occasion: "We are going to make them have a

Sex on the beach,

I will give the ingredients on social networks beforehand for those who do not know them and we will all together for a good cocktail live.

It is therefore time to prepare your shaker as well as to check if you have vodka, peach liqueur, pineapple and cranberry juice.

Distinguished guest, dance show ...

For the next few times, hoping that there is as little as possible for the boss of the nightclub, there might be some surprises:

“I'm also looking to have guests, I'm in discussion with a very famous French humorist, just to laugh a bit.

Why not also do a dance show but it is not easy with the health situation… It does not bring me anything financially but at least we change our ideas and especially we keep this link between us.

"

Sébastien Labeyrie wants at all costs to fight against the adage "far from the eyes, far from the heart" even if he receives many messages of support.

Some even push him to create a pot.

“We'll see,” replies the Bordeaux boss.

He especially hopes to reopen as quickly as possible to finally celebrate the five years of his resumption of the Monsignor, an anniversary scheduled for March 17.

And not behind a smartphone like this Thursday but with people on the track.
