Confirmed

Covid

cases

are

up slightly from Tuesday.

The report released this Wednesday by the Ministry of Health shows

15,318 more infections

, so that there are already 1,525,341 Spaniards who have been infected with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

In the same vein as the previous day, when 13,159 infected were registered, the data also reflects an apparent stability and improvement in the evolution of this second wave.

Of the more than 15,000 new people who have tested positive, 7,090 have undergone the diagnostic test in the last 24 hours (there were 5,897 on Tuesday).

Much of them continue to be concentrated in Madrid and Catalonia, both communities over a thousand infections in one day (1,395 and 1,142, respectively).

Nearby is the Basque Country, which reports 910 positives (compared to 766 the day before).

Despite the relief provided by the decline in infections in the country, the same cannot be said about

deaths, whose curve still remains at a very alarming level

, although they have fallen in the last day.

Specifically, after the record in the second wave registered on Tuesday, when 435 deaths were recorded, this Wednesday they fell to 351. In this way,

the global death toll rises to 42,039

(Health has not yet included the people who lost life in residences).

In the last seven days, 1,346 patients have died, the highest number of deaths in a week of the second wave

.

Andalusia remains in the lead with 234 deaths in the last seven days.

Behind are Castilla y León (178), Aragón (174) and Asturias (119).

Valencia highlights that, after registering 76 deaths on Tuesday, this Wednesday it exceeds one hundred (107, specifically).

In Madrid the number of deaths has also grown in the last week and reports 98. For its part, Galicia scores 76;

the Basque Country, 70;

Castilla La Mancha, 57;

Extremadura, 52;

Murcia, 48;

Catalonia, 38;

and Navarra, 30. The rest of the communities report 20 or fewer deaths in this period of time and only Melilla and Ceuta report fewer than 10 (5 and 3, respectively).

November has been until now the month that has suffered the most from the drag of the second wave and, above all, the month in which the daily death figures have really begun to worry.

In this sense, the total number of people who have died from the virus in this last week triples that registered on November 1.

Thus, the official count for that day accumulated 777 deaths in a week, a figure that was already high.

As in the last counts,

the cumulative incidence level

(AI) -number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days- drops to 452 cases (yesterday, 465).

The communities with the most disturbing rate are Castilla y León (800), Ceuta (793) and the Basque Country (736).

There are also nine other regions above the national average: La Rioja (699), Aragón (687), Asturias (648), Murcia (635), Melilla (594), Andalusia (536), Cantabria (533), Navarra (515) and Castilla La Mancha (465).

Although all the communities still have a very high AI index (except the Canary Islands, which has an incidence of 82 positives, the others exceed 200), 14 of the 19 have improved this parameter in the last day.

On the contrary, those that have slightly worsened have been Asturias, Canarias, Castilla y León, Cantabria and Extremadura.

Regarding

people hospitalized with Covid,

Health registers 4,330 in the last seven days.

Most of them in Andalusia (765), Castilla y León (570) and Asturias (489).

In addition, after days above 20,000 admitted by the virus, Spain currently has 19,403, 604 less than on Tuesday.

In this sense, Catalonia is the community with the most patients (3,968, down from the 4,000 we were used to), followed by Andalusia (3,176) and Madrid (2,404).

Over the 1,000 infected patients are Valencia (1,780), Castilla y León (1,745) and Asturias (1,027).

On the other hand, of the more than 4,000 patients hospitalized in the last week,

357 have been transferred to Intensive Care

in the same period of time and 113 more since yesterday.

In this way, 15,153 infected people have entered the ICU since the beginning of this crisis.

At the European level,

France becomes the first European country to exceed two million infections

throughout the pandemic.

The total number of infected people in the Gallic country already reaches 2,036,755.

Russia, which is also close to this figure, reports 1,971,013 confirmed cases.

In addition to Spain, which remains third in terms of positives, other countries above a thousand are the United Kingdom (1,410,732) and Italy (1,238,072).

The United Kingdom continues, on the other hand, at the top in the ranking of deceased and reports 52,745 since March;

followed by Italy, which adds a total of 46,464;

France, with 46,273;

and, in fourth place, Spain.

As previously mentioned, our country has recorded a global figure of 42,039 deaths.

Regarding

the cumulative incidence of coronavirus on the continent

, Switzerland (1,018) and Austria (1,005) follow over a thousand infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Czech Republic, on the other hand, fell to 973 positives.

Other countries with a very high incidence rate that surpass Spain are Poland (839), Belgium (744), Italy (741), France (736), Portugal (712), Romania (500) and the United Kingdom (467 ).
