The Japan Tourism Agency has said that there have been multiple cases of suspected fraudulent receipt of "regional common coupons" issued to users in the "Go To Travel" policy to stimulate tourism demand. We announced that we will start measures from November 25th.

Of the "regional common coupons" issued to users by "Go To Travel," electronic coupons can be used after 3:00 pm on the day of accommodation by entering the reservation number, etc. on the smartphone without having to check in at the accommodation facility. It is a mechanism that you can receive it.

According to the Japan Tourism Agency, since October when coupons became available, there have been multiple cases nationwide where people are suspected of illegally receiving electronic coupons by canceling their stay without permission.

For this reason, the Japan Tourism Agency has decided to introduce anti-fraud measures using a mechanism called SMS authentication that uses a short mail service that can send messages to mobile phones.

In the process of receiving a coupon, the user must enter the mobile phone number and enter the 4-digit authentication number that arrived at the mobile phone before receiving the coupon.

The Japan Tourism Agency says it will start on the 25th, saying that it will be easier to identify users and less likely to cheat.
