Following the completion of the facility for terrorism countermeasures for the first time in Japan, the first nuclear power plant in Kagoshima Prefecture, which resumed operation on the 17th, will continue its fission reaction stably around 7 am on the 18th. It will be in a "critical" state and will start power generation from the night of the 19th.

Kyushu Electric Power's Kawauchi Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, is a new regulatory standard established after the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, and is obliged to be installed as a countermeasure against terrorism, etc. However, it was not completed within the deadline of March and the operation was stopped, but on the night of the 17th, the operation was resumed for the first time in about 8 months.



Then, around 7 am on the 18th, the fission reaction became stable and became a state called "criticality".

Power generation and transmission are scheduled to begin around 11:00 pm on the 19th.



At the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant, the completion of the facility for Unit 2 was not in time for the deadline, and the operation was stopped in May, but it is scheduled to be completed next month, and then power generation is planned to resume.
