Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong, November 17 (Reporter Ding Ziyi) The Hong Kong Trade Development Council said on the 16th that the preparations for the 31st Hong Kong Book Fair scheduled to be held on December 16 will continue in an orderly manner, and the TDC will be one week before the book exhibition opens. (I.e. December 9) for the final assessment and decision of exhibitors before entering the venue.

  Earlier, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council announced that the Hong Kong Book Fair and the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo originally scheduled to be held in July would be postponed to December 16-22 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

One month before the new exhibition period, the actual situation and risk assessment will be used to review whether the exhibition will be held as scheduled.

Then, one week before the opening of the exhibition, the final assessment and decision will be made before the exhibitors enter the venue, so as to avoid the additional expenses that exhibitors may incur due to entering the venue.

  The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has been closely monitoring the development of the epidemic and has maintained close contact with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Special Administrative Region Government and the industry.

On November 16, the TDC met with representatives of the co-organizers of the Hong Kong Book Fair. After considering various factors, they agreed to continue the preparations for the book fair in an orderly manner.

  The TDC stated that public safety is still the primary consideration. In the next few weeks, the TDC will continue to communicate with co-organizers, the industry and government departments to closely examine the impact of changes in the epidemic on the book fair.
