What is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, SPOK?

For our All Sex Explode meeting, which talks about intimacy and sexuality, we talk to Kelly Martin, founder of the Esp'OPK association.

Hormonal disorder common in women of childbearing age, between one in seven women to one in ten women suffer from it, reports Kelly Martin.

This syndrome is the leading cause of female infertility in the world.

It can also lead to cardiovascular and metabolic complications, such as diabetes.

If today, there is no specific treatment for SPOK, hope and research are advancing.

What difficulties for sex life?

Suffering from this syndrome, a little lost by the lack of information, Kelly Martin founded the association Esp'OPK in November 2018 to discover this syndrome, answer questions and centralize the resources of practitioners.

In this episode, she returns to her personal story, the signs of SPOK, the diagnosis.

It recalls the poorly understood and multifactorial origins of the disease.

SPOK and infertility?

Kelly Martin also evokes the possible difficulties encountered in the sexual life of people who suffer from this disease.

Finally, she recalls the possible complexity of planning and carrying out a pregnancy with SPOK.
