  • Coronavirus: the second wave strikes the mirage of immunity in Sweden

After the apparent tranquility of the last days in the number of infections, whose curve, still triggered, seemed to stabilize, the Ministry of Health

once again registers more than 20,000 confirmed cases

.

Specifically, the updated report published this Friday reveals 21,371 new people infected since yesterday.

Thus, there are already 1,458,591 patients infected by coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic in our country.

The cumulative incidence is already below 500.

Of the more than 20,000 positives,

8,775 correspond to diagnostic tests performed in the last 24 hours

(it must be remembered that the rest are tests done in previous days, but whose positive result had not yet been reported).

Most of them are located in Madrid (1,519), the Basque Country (1,293) and Catalonia (1,208).

The number of people killed by the virus continues to be alarming: 308 in the last 24 hours.

The record was broken last Tuesday when the government reported 411 deaths in one day

.

In this way, 40,769 patients have lost their lives due to covid since March.

With a death date in the last week, 1,315 people have died, making this the highest figure of the second wave.

Deceased

Of these,

Andalusia continues to be the community that has reported the most deaths (211)

.

Castilla y León, Aragón and Asturias also present data higher than 100 deaths (180, 170 and 116, respectively).

Nearing the hundred is Madrid, which communicates 95. Behind and at a very short distance, Valencia scores 92;

Galicia, 86;

Castilla La Mancha and Murcia, 61;

Extremadura, 49;

Catalonia and the Basque Country, 42;

Navarra, 39;

La Rioja, 22;

Cantabria, 16;

and the Canary Islands, 13. Below the ten deaths in the last seven days are the Balearic Islands, which reports eight;

and Melilla and Ceuta, six.

For the fourth consecutive day, the cumulative incidence (AI) -number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants- falls

and stands at 498 cases, below the threshold of 500 cases

(in the previous day there were 504).

Another positive news is that, despite the fact that the indicators for the regions are still quite high, no community

has exceeded the incidence of 1,000 positives, a rate that until yesterday surpassed Ceuta

.

Of course, this area continues to be the one with the highest rate, with an AI of 996 infections.

Other communities with data above the national average are Melilla (912), Aragón (871), Castilla y León (819), the Basque Country (790), La Rioja (785), Navarra (751), Murcia (750) , Catalonia (574), Asturias (573), Andalusia (548), Extremadura (535), Cantabria (519) and Castilla La Mancha (502).
